This is where NøffNøff BBQ was born.
In 2002, at the SoundQuilt Music Festival, we met the band Ubiquitone. That chance meeting changed everything. We loved to cook; they loved to play music. So we joined forces and, in 2004, created our own music festival — Ubiquitopia.
What began as a small group of friends roasting a pig over an old iron gate quickly grew into a full-scale event with a proper kitchen, a full stage that has only improved over time, Norwegian flags flying high, and a reputation for serious food, serious music, and even more serious hospitality.
Twenty-one years later, Ubiquitopia remains our spiritual home — the place where the longship was first launched. And we still don't charge a dime.
We go big here. A large kitchen tent with a full proper kitchen, the stage, long communal tables, and the red, white, and blue Norwegian flag flying over everything — with the USA flag right alongside, of course.
This is where we serve our biggest spreads and test out new dishes and drinks. Everyone is welcome. Strangers become friends over brisket and lingonberry sauce — and the occasional smoked alligator.
We treat this event like a homecoming. The drinks station runs late, the fire is always going, and the door is always open. It would be open, if there was one.
